Peace is Possible

Peace.

Though not difficult to define,
few people live with it.
World Peace may seem unattainable.
Conflict is constant.

But,

personal peace is within your grasp.

Not because of anything you have or have not done,
but because of the work of Christ -
The Prince of Peace.

Peace is less about a location, and more about a Person.

Jesus asks and then answers the following questions:
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30

Unplug.
Pause.
Pray.

Invite the Prince of Peace to reign in your heart.
Peace is possible.

  1. Sometimes even our work in ministry robs us of peace. This is a great reminder to me to find my peace in Jesus and use it to change myself and the world around me.

    Thanks for sharing.

  2. Good one. Can't wait to read what you discover about God among his people. Great to be in class together. BTW: I wrote about you last year: http://peacefulones.blogspot.com/2012/04/my-hero-jeffery-portmann-and-other.html

  3. "I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you." A word from the Lord for me, today. I read this to your parents so they could see your new blog, and your words hit me where I needed it most. Thank you.
